Best Dive Bars: Pacific Northwest Edition
Every motorcycle trip needs a few good bars on the itinerary. ?A road trip to the Pacific Northwest is no different. As always, GothRider Magazine has you covered. Beaver Inn, Bellingham, WA The Beaver Inn is a classic bar with a lot to offer.?The bartenders are great, which makes for a “right at home” vibe. The beers are cheap, and the food is fried. There’s free wi-fi, plenty of seating, and pool tables. Stop in for a drink and stay for awhile. Montana, Seattle, WA Started years ago by a Montana transplant, this bar is one of the best dives in Seattle. No-frills cheap bars are hard to find in a hipster city, but Montana doesn’t disappoint. It’s a small bar with some outdoor seating, arcade games, and a photo booth. Be sure to try the Moscow Mule that’s on tap;?it might be the best in the state. Engel’s Pub, Edmonds, WA Sometimes the best bars are dark and dingy in a small town. Engel’s is no exception. There’s a great selection of beers, a skee ball machine, and pool table. Wednesday is biker’s night, Thursday is karaoke, and there is regularly live music. J’Ville Tavern, Jacksonville, OR If you’re wanting a great selection of local beers, J’Ville Tavern is the place to go. With an “Old West” vibe, this dive bar is a great?stop for thirsty travelers. Drinks are cheap, but there’s a daily happy hour. Wi-fi and darts are free. On Sundays, pool is free, as well. Low Brow Lounge, Portland, OR There’s not a lot left in Portland that is low-brow, but this dive bar aims to be a haven for those of us who dislike pretension. Eat classic pub fare and enjoy cheap drinks. There’s pinball and plenty of seating to just chat with the regulars. Their service gets rave reviews. It’s worth a stop if you’re in Portland.
