It’s been a while since we’ve highlighted dive bars. But we realized if we inspired you to plan?a motorcycle trip to the Deep South, you need a place to whet your whistle. Below are some great dives in the region that invented hospitality. Rodney’s Handlebar & Grill, Little Rock, AR There couldn’t be a more motorcycle-friendly bar and grill than Rodney’s in Little Rock. That’s because it’s part of Rodney’s Cycle House. They sell motorcycles and parts, gear, and even service your bikes. It’s a one-stop shop. Stop in for lunch or dinner while they check out your bike in the shop. Just be sure you’re there when they are open: Rodney’s is closed on Sunday and Monday. Motorheads Bar & Grill, McDonough, GA If you’re traveling through Georgia, stay in McDonough. Motorheads has everything you need for a small biker vacation. They serve lunch and dinner, have live music and karaoke, and even have Texas Hold’em Poker every day. Weeknights bring drink specials. Sundays are Bike Days, with giveaways, prizes, and live music. It’s got everything you need to have a night out with like-minded folks. Fenian’s Pub, Jackson, MS Sometimes the best bars are Irish pubs. This is definitely the case in Jackson. Fenian’s Pub is a local favorite. In fact, they just won an award for Best Open Mic and Best Place to Drink Cheap in the city. Enjoy their menu with classic pub fare and Irish favorites. The drinks are cheap, so enjoy a pint (or more) of Guinness. Slainte! The Beaver Bar, Murrells Inlet, SC The South Carolina Beaver Bar is the original, although they now have locations in Daytona, Florida, and Sturgis, South Dakota. And it’s so popular, Murrells Inlet has two: The Big Beaver Bar and The Little Beaver Bar. Every night brings something different. There’s live music and karaoke, Bingo, and a mechanical bull. The food is good, and the drinks are cheap. Domestics are only $2, and imports are just a dollar more.
