May Biker Shows

May Biker Shows

We?re back with a guide to all the May Biker Shows! Once you have had all the fun with rallies in April, it?s time for more adventures. We have all the need to know information, so you can start planning your motorcycle trips for next month.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week

First up is Myrtle Beach Bike Week?the largest motorcycle rally in the Carolinas. The event runs from May 13 through May 22. With a focus on riding, the main events are rides, tours, and races.

There is no fee to enter your pimped out motorcycle in the bike show on Thursday Night Thunder, May 19. Most of the shows and vendors are held at the Swamp Fox Entertainment Complex, which also allows camping and RV hookups. If you camp there, all concerts are free. Detailed schedules have not yet been posted.

If you would rather stay in a hotel, the website offers many discounts for local Myrtle Beach lodgings. Save extra money at hotels and restaurants by purchasing a $20 Myrtle Beach discount card from the site.

Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally

If the beach isn?t your thing, or you just need another rally after Myrtle Beach, head to Red River, New Mexico. Running from May 26 through May 30, the 34th annual event boasts 20,000 bikers along Main Street for an epic rally.

With tons of live music and great vendors, you won?t be lacking for fun. The website is sparse on details, so follow the Facebook page. Red River is also part of the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. The 83 mile loop goes through Taos and Angel Fire, and is one of the most beautiful rides this side of the Mississippi.

There are six US Forest Service campgrounds around Red River, with everything from primitive camping to yurts. As far as hotels go, 3 Bears Lodge can?t be beat?and they offer a military discount (not just for Memorial Day!)

Mississippi Gulf Coast Memorial Day Blowout

From May 27 through May 30, Gulfport, Mississippi hosts a huge, not-family-friendly biker rally. With multiple races, bikini and tattoo contests, and free live music every night, the Memorial Day Blowout is not an event to be missed.

While we?re still waiting on the completed 2016 schedule, you can take a look at last year?s schedule for an idea of the fun to come. This year?s charitable rides are for Multiple Sclerosis and the Boys and Girls Club.

You?re on your own for finding lodging, with no partner hotels mentioned on the website. For camping, we recommend Gulf Haven Campground because it?s right on the gulf. There are major chain hotels like Residence Inn and Courtyard with reasonable (under $100 a night) prices.

Ohio Bike Week

Near Sandusky, Ohio, the Ohio Bike Week is a week chock-full of awesome events. For ten days from May 27 until June 5, bikers gather for amazing concerts and tons of free rides and shows.

Only the concerts cost money. You can pay for each concert individually, or save $200 by buying the VIP All Access Pass. Headliners this year include Sebastian Bach, Eddie Money, and Montgomery Gentry! Vendors are set up at three different locations.

Destination rides include tours around Lake Erie and Kelleys Island, as well as museum and winery tours. Stop at the Welcome Center for information. You can camp at the Broken Spoke Campground or book hotels with discounts through the website.
